From April to June 2024, among the top 15 metro areas, the Denver metro area witnessed the highest YoY change in new listings count, showing a rise of 22.7% compared to the same period last year, with a new listings count of 21,790. Meanwhile, the New York metro area saw the lowest YoY change with an increase of 5.2% and a new listings count of 34,440. Metro areas such as Seattle, Houston, and Miami experienced significant increases in the YoY change in new listings count, ranging from 20.3% to 19.1%. Jacksonville and Atlanta metro areas also saw notable rises in new listings at 19.0% and 18.9%, respectively. The Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Austin metro areas observed YoY increases of 16.9%, 16.0%, and 15.1%, respectively. Boston, Dallas, Washington, and Philadelphia metro areas had more modest increases, ranging from 14.1% to 10.5%. However, Chicago metro area saw a 7.2% increase in new listings compared to the same period in 2023.
